Opioid prescriptions come in many forms and these data represent the combined statistical summaries of all possible opioid prescription variants. This data comes from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) IQVIA database. The data below represents the number of prescriptions per 100 residents in Alabama.

Data from 2006-2018 shows prescriptions based on the location of the pharmacy, whereas data from 2019 onward shows prescriptions based on the location of the prescriber. For more information, please visit the CDC website here.
