Health Services Utilization

This data represents information provided by two of the largest healthcare insurance payers in Alabama: Alabama Medicaid (AL Medicaid) and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama (BCBSAL). Data from AL Medicaid and BCBSAL have been aggregated to provide a more comprehensive, all-payer view of opioid-related health services for the state of Alabama. Each dashboard shares the number of recipients of Opioid Addiction Treatment, Opioid Prescriptions, and Overdoses. Where possible, each payer used the same procedures, diagnoses and definitions to ensure consistency across the dashboard(s).
